The Power of Gratitude


Recently, I listened to a podcast where the host interviewed a psychologist who studies how we assess our successes and failures. How we as humans are hardwired to not be grateful for others if we perceive that they are better off than we are. How we are in fact ungrateful or take things for granted until we suffer a misfortune. As I was listening, I thought if only folks understood the benefits of gratefulness and gratitude. In today’s fast-paced world, it is so easy to overlook and acknowledge your blessings. I read somewhere that gratitude and sadness can’t be experienced simultaneously. Being grateful has tremendous benefits from improving your mental and physical health to enhancing your relationships and overall well-being. It really does require intention.
